The Beginners Guide to Planning a Company Video
In todays marketplace, it's no longer good enough to simply have a website. Even with a very interactive website, today's multitasking consumer wants more information...Fast. As the rapid development of online marketing evolves, video marketing has become the new mainstream resource to promote your website and products.
When you are in the starting phase of developing a video for your company, there are a few questions you will want to answer. First off, "What is the purpose of this video?" Are you simply welcoming visitors to your site, giving a description of your products or services, or are you promoting an event? Regardless of what the purpose of your video is, there are a few helpful things to think about when producing an online video.
A good place to start is writing down the ten most popular questions you are asked about your company, products, or services. List these out and then write another ten questions that your customers SHOULD be asking you. For example, maybe a client asks, Why should I choose to buy your product over another companies product? But, what they should be asking is, How can your product save me time and money and make my life more rewarding? When you look at these two lists of questions side by side, you will start to notice certain themes that rise up multiple times, and these themes are the ones that you should address in your videos. This will be a good starting point for you to begin writing your script.
The script is the most important piece of your video because it gives you, and everyone else involved with making the video, a guide to proceed by. Once your script and message are out lined, the rest of your video should just flow and hit on the topics you have highlighted in your script.
Some other things to consider while planning out your video are:
- The location...What are you going to shoot your video in front of?
- Music...Music sets the mood of the video and is a very important element.
- Animated Graphics...It is important to make your video stand out against all others, and adding animated graphics in the correct places will do just that.
- Call to Action...At the end of the video, what do you want the viewer to do? Call your company for more information? Sign up for a class?
The importance of adding a video to your website in today's competitive marketplace is essentail. You can personally welcome online visitors and put a humane face on your business. A video introduction has substantially more impact than a long page of text, and by developing an affinity with visitors you will receive increased enquiries and boost sales through your website.
